My yellow lab has one bare hot spot on her front paw--are there some OTC human medicines that can treat this?

Our yellow lab has one 2" x 1" hot spot on her front paw's "wrist" area that is bare and exposes dark looking rough skin below. I have seen her licking that area, but it doesn't seem to bug her too badly, yet the hair continues to fall out there. I have been giving her Frontline on a regular schedule, so I don't suspect fleas. Also, we've been treating her for a possible ear infection because of the clic yeasty smell her ear had in the past two weeks. Could that be the cause of the hotspot? What should I use to treat the hotspot and try to get the hair to grow back? Thanks!
