What am I rubbing down there and why does it feel good?

It started when i was three. I would rub my area on the floor and get a pleasuros sensation but my motuer would scream that i was hurting myself. I am still doing it in private. It is watevr that wrinkly thing is in my pubic area. Am i okay? What? Why?
