Why do people sympathize with female stars more than male stars?

Interesting question. I think there are multiple reasons why people tend to sympathize more with female stars than male stars. First of all, in most , the woman is in a submissive, vulnerable position. Don't get me wrong, there are some soft-core movies that cater to females, in which this is not the case. However, in MOST mainstream , women are subjected to undeniably degrading treatment (*** shots to the face for example). In addition, there seems to be a predominant view of women as being LESS ually driven than men. A man's ual desire is considered a constant. It is normal. Expected. Women however, are NOT expected to enjoy engaging in acts with many different partners. Therefor, people ume there is something fundamentally 'wrong' with a woman who participates in indiscriminant (as a star does). I don't meant to suggest that women's participation in is a liberating expression of female uality, but it should be noted how quickly we draw conclusions regarding the nature of female and male uality.
