How much do diesel/heavy equipment mechanics earn?

Great field to get into. Diesel techs work bankers hours. I never see one turning a wrench before 8:30,they're gone to lunch from noon to one and they're out the door like a shot right at 5 every damn day. You'll make great money,but you're gonna spend it like water in the beginning at the Snap-On truck until you get your toolbox all stocked up.
